Sexual harassment

Although women and girls are recognized as full rights-holders within the Brazilian legal system, the gap between constitutional promises and lived reality reveals a persistent pattern of violations—most notably sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence. Recent data indicate that Brazil recorded at least 78,463 cases of rape in 2024, amounting to approximately 214 victims per day—or about nine per hour. Discussing supportive care, specialized listening, protected testimony, and multidisciplinary services is essential to overcoming this reality.
